As part of capacity-building and the development of civic initiatives, Kostanay region hosted a series of training seminars for representatives of ethno-cultural associations, advisory bodies and ethnocentric centers of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan.

The training took place on the following key topics:

"Development of a social project: from idea to structure" – the participants got acquainted with the basic stages of design, from the formation of an actual idea to the construction of the logical structure of the project. Methods of problem analysis, goal setting, and formulation of expected results were discussed.

"Fundamentals of fundraising and project resource support" – the seminar was devoted to practical approaches to attracting resources, including financial, human and informational. The speaker presented successful cases on cooperation with donors, public and private partners.

"Presentation and protection of a social project" – participants received recommendations on effective presentation of their projects, preparation for public protection and communication with potential investors and grant holders. Trainings were organized with simulated project defense in front of an expert commission.

At the end of the training cycle, participants had the opportunity to apply for a mini-grant competition to implement their own social initiatives. The total prize fund of the competition is 4,500,000 tenge, which will support the best projects aimed at developing interethnic harmony, social cohesion and active civic participation.

The seminars have become not only a learning platform, but also a place to share experiences, establish new connections and discuss relevant social initiatives.
