An extraordinary musical performance took place in the capital — military musicians of the National Guard of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan held a concert on the water. This unique event was part of the XI Military Music Festival “Әскери керней,” dedicated to Capital Day.

Onboard a river tram gliding along the Yesil River, musicians of the Exemplary Band of the National Guard performed well-known patriotic marches, modern pieces, and traditional folk melodies. Residents and guests strolling along the riverbanks watched the moving musical platform with great interest and responded with enthusiastic applause.

“This performance format is a new experience for both the musicians and the audience. We wanted to give the city’s residents a bright and memorable experience,”
said the band’s conductor, Torekhan Zhaudinov.

The river performance became one of the highlights of the festival, generating wide engagement on social media — users shared photos and videos, praising the creativity of the event organized by the law enforcement troops.

The “Әскери керней” festival is held annually and is aimed at promoting military music, strengthening cultural ties between the armed forces and society, and fostering patriotic values among the youth.

In addition to the river concert, performances took place on stage and open-air platforms in parks such as “Ғашықтар,” “Жерұйық,” and “Жетысу,” featuring:

• The Presidential Orchestra of the State Security Service,

• The Central Military Band and Central Ensemble of the National Military-Patriotic Center of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan,

• The Central Ensemble of the Ministry of Defense,

• The Central Ensemble of the Border Guard Service of the National Security Committee.

The festivities will continue on July 6, culminating in a Gala Concert on Kazakh Eli Square, beginning at 16:30.
The program will feature a medley of popular Kazakh and international hits performed by military bands, as well as military songs accompanied by a ceremonial drill show by the Honor Guard Company of the National Guard.
