An innovative electronic tabulation system has been introduced in the Almaty region, already delivering significant results!
Now, kindergartens are equipped with technology that allows parents and staff to track attendance through QR codes and Face ID. This advancement has not only improved transparency and convenience but also resulted in substantial savings for the regional budget.
As part of operational optimization and improved accountability, 29 private kindergartens have been closed. Previously, more than 2 billion tenge were allocated annually to fund these institutions.
Within just a few months of launching the system, 1.2 billion tenge in budget funds have already been saved. The expected annual savings may exceed 2 billion tenge.
The new system operates on the principle of full digital transparency: every child’s attendance is recorded automatically, data is available to parents in real time, and manual input is eliminated. Fraud is virtually impossible thanks to biometric identification.
“This is not just a technological innovation — it’s a tool for restoring order. The system enables real-time attendance monitoring and eliminates any manipulation. Budget savings are a direct result of digitalization,” said Akyl Zhandos, Head of the Department of Digital Technologies of the Almaty Region.
According to him, the project will serve as the foundation for further digital transformation in the education sector and will be scaled to other institutions.
