Islamabad, July 7, 2025 – Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Pakistan H.E. Mr. Yerzhan Kistafin held a meeting with Prof. Dr. Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq, Director General of the Islamic Research Institute and a member of the Secretariat of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions.
The two sides discussed the upcoming VIII Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, scheduled to be held on September 17–18, 2025, in Astana.
The participation of the Pakistani delegation headed by the Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony of Pakistan, H.E. Mr. Sardar Muhammad Yousaf, was officially confirmed.
The meeting also explored prospects for enhancing cooperation between academic institutions and universities of Kazakhstan and Pakistan.
In particular, both sides agreed to implement a number of joint projects by the end of the current year.
