Development of E-Commerce between Kazakhstan and Pakistan: New Horizons of Cooperation

Islamabad, July 10, 2025 – Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Pakistan H.E. Mr. Yerzhan Kistafin participated in the Global Pakistan Summit 2025 on the development of E-Commerce. The event was organized by the Ministry of Commerce and the Trade Development Agency of Pakistan.
Mr. Rana Ihsan Afzal Khan, Coordinator of the Prime Minister on Commerce, attended the event as an honorary guest.
Among the key participants of the conference were heads of diplomatic missions, as well as representatives of the public and private sectors of Kazakhstan, Belarus, Uzbekistan, and Turkey, with whom relevant documents on the establishment and development of E-Commerce had previously been signed.
In his remarks at the Conference, Ambassador H.E. Mr. Yerzhan Kistafin spoke about the rapidly growing e-commerce sector in Kazakhstan, the volume of which reached approximately USD 6 billion by the end of 2024.
He noted that Kazakhstan is actively implementing digital solutions, encouraging the participation of small and medium-sized businesses in online trade, and expanding cooperation with international platforms.
The Ambassador shared his views on priority areas and potential sectors for the development of e-commerce cooperation between Kazakhstan and Pakistan, emphasizing that e-commerce is becoming one of the key drivers of regional economic interaction.
Additionally, the Ambassador H.E. Mr. Yerzhan Kistafin informed participants about the results of the Kazakhstan-Pakistan Intergovernmental Commission meeting, held on April 29 in Islamabad, during which an agreement on cooperation in the field of e-commerce was signed and a Roadmap for Trade and Economic Cooperation for 2025–2027 was adopted.
The Summit also featured a presentation by the Ministry of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan, during which participants were briefed on the current state of the sector, its key indicators, as well as the initiatives and measures being implemented in the country to promote e-commerce.
Moreover, representatives of Kazakhstan’s e-commerce sector - including QazTrade, Kazpost, the Digital Kazakhstan Association, and others - participated in the event online.
