Kazakhstan speeds up and simplifies border crossing

As part of the state policy to expand transit potential, the MoF of Kazakhstan is carrying out a large-scale modernization of 9 border points on the borders with China, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.
🔹 Since the beginning of 2025, 4 modernized points have already been launched:
- “Kalzhat” and “Alakol” (PRC)
- “Kaplanbek” and “Atameken” (Uzbekistan)
🔹 By the end of the year will be completed:
“Kazygurt”, “Tazhen”, “Temir Baba”, ‘Maikapchagai’, “Bakhty”.
The renewed checkpoints meet international standards and are equipped with high-tech equipment. The control passes according to the principle of “one window”, without unnecessary stops, in 30 minutes.
🚛 Key digital solutions implemented:
- Electronic queue CarGoRuqsat
- Autohubs and transit and logistics center
- Digital platform “Keden” (13 out of 20 modules are already functioning)
📊 Results:
- Throughput capacity increased from 640,000 to 1.4 million TCs
- Reduction of border crossing time by 3 times
MoF RK continues to work on digitalization, automation and development of border services.
