In July 2025, Shymkent continues to actively treat urban areas against mosquitoes and other insects. These activities are carried out strictly according to the approved schedule and cover key public spaces: parks, squares, canals and adjacent areas. The work is aimed at preventing the spread of diseases transmitted through insect bites, as well as improving the sanitary condition of the urban environment.

According to information from city services, disinfestation is carried out using certified means that are safe for people and animals, provided that all instructions are followed. However, residents are strongly advised to exercise caution: do not allow children to approach treated areas, avoid contact with treated surfaces, and ensure that pets are not in disinfestation zones.

Particular attention is paid to work in areas with high humidity and accumulation of stagnant water, where pests reproduce especially quickly. The list of priority zones includes the outskirts of the city and the private sector, where, as practice shows, mosquitoes most often find favorable conditions for reproduction. The authorities call on city residents not only to comply with sanitary standards, but also to show initiative - to treat their own plots and adjacent territories at their own expense.

In parallel with practical work, an information and educational campaign is also being conducted. Through social networks, announcements, leaflets and the media, residents learn about the disinfestation schedule, necessary precautions and the possibility of contacting sanitary services. This approach has already proven its effectiveness in previous years.

If we recall previous seasons, for example 2023 and 2024, then disinfestation works were also carried out on a large scale, especially during periods of prolonged rains. Then, outbreaks of insects were recorded in the city, especially near water bodies, and additional stages of treatment were urgently carried out. In 2024, for example, the total area of treatment exceeded 12 thousand hectares - a third more than the year before. This made it possible to reduce the number of complaints from residents and avoid an increase in cases of diseases transmitted through bites.

In 2025, the city's sanitary services use more modern methods: drones are used to monitor the territory, digital maps of infested areas are created, and the effectiveness of each stage of treatment is monitored. These innovations allow for streamlining the process and provide greater precision in the fight against insects.

Representatives of sanitary services emphasize that spraying alone is not enough - assistance from the population is necessary. It is important to eliminate sources of stagnant water, clear areas of garbage, and prevent littering of yards and premises. Such simple measures significantly reduce the likelihood of reappearance of insects.

It is also worth noting that this year local housing cooperatives and housing associations are actively involved in the work, not only informing residents, but also conducting preventive talks, monitoring the cleanliness of adjacent areas and interacting with contractors carrying out pest control.

Overall, the current campaign in Shymkent demonstrates the coordinated work of all links — from sanitary services to ordinary citizens. Timely measures, constant monitoring and high involvement of the population create all the conditions for a successful fight against seasonal pests. And although it is impossible to completely eliminate the appearance of mosquitoes, the city does everything possible to minimize their number and provide a comfortable, safe environment for life.
