Katowice, July 24-25, 2025 – The Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Poland, Nurlan Zhalgasbayev, paid a working visit to the city of Katowice, where he held meetings with the Voivode of the Silesian Voivodeship, Marek Wójcik, the First Deputy Marshal of the region, Leszek Pietraszek, and the First Deputy Mayor of Katowice, Bogumił Sobula.

The Kazakh diplomat informed the regional leadership about the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation, reaffirming Kazakhstan’s commitment to consistently deepening multifaceted cooperation with Poland.

Special attention was given to issues related to the intensification of trade and economic ties and the deepening of investment interaction. The active participation of Polish businesses in the economy of Kazakhstan was noted, along with the significant potential for further development of bilateral economic cooperation, particularly at the regional level.

In this context, it was emphasized that Silesia, with its high level of industrialization and well-developed transport infrastructure, represents a particularly promising region for business cooperation. Interest was expressed in exploring the possibility of organizing joint business events in Katowice with the participation of Kazakh and Polish companies.

The important role of the Polish diaspora living in Kazakhstan was highlighted as a solid humanitarian and cultural bridge contributing to the strengthening of mutual understanding and friendship between the peoples of the two countries.

During the discussions, the leaders of the Silesian region noted that Kazakhstan is a key partner of Poland in Central Asia and expressed their readiness to support initiatives aimed at developing trade and economic ties, cultural and humanitarian cooperation, and interregional partnerships.
