During the meeting, she attempted to pass him a mobile phone, which had been concealed in the sole of a shoe. The violation was recorded by surveillance cameras.
An administrative report was filed against the woman, and the case materials have been submitted to the court.
Despite repeated warnings from the officers of the penal enforcement system, citizens continue to attempt to smuggle prohibited items into secure facilities.
For example, at the pre-trial detention center in the city of Pavlodar, officers thwarted an attempt to deliver a mobile phone, charger, and earphones. During the inspection of a package intended for a 39-year-old detainee, the devices were discovered hidden inside a cake. An administrative offense report was filed against the Pavlodar resident who brought the package, under Article 481 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The case materials have been forwarded to the court.
A similar incident occurred in Kyzylorda, where officers found a mobile phone hidden inside a bar of soap during a parcel inspection.
“All citizens coming for visits are informed about the legal consequences of attempting to bring prohibited items. Facilities are equipped with X-ray scanners that allow quick detection of mobile phones, narcotics, and psychotropic substances. Everyone is subject to inspection,” explained Berik Baykenov, head of the Department for Regime, Supervision, and Security of the Penal Enforcement Committee.
Since the beginning of this year, penal enforcement officers have prevented 346 attempts to smuggle mobile phones, seized more than 58 liters of alcoholic beverages, and over 10 kilograms of narcotic substances. A total of 128 civilians, including public defenders and lawyers, have been held administratively liable. More than 20 other cases are currently under judicial review
