The final stage of the republican competition “World of Abai” was held in Shymkent. It was aimed at popularizing the literary and spiritual heritage of the great thinker, broadening horizons and increasing interest in fiction.

The first stage of the competition took place from June 1 to July 15. This year, 117 people aged 18 to 35 from all regions of Kazakhstan took part in it, 26 of whom reached the final.

At the gala evening, the finalists expressively recited Abai's poems and "Words of Edification", and also presented research devoted to his life and work. Deputy Akim of Shymkent Sarsen Kuranbek noted the importance of Abai's legacy for the formation of spiritual and moral values of youth.

According to the results of the competition, the main prize - 1 million tenge - was won by Malik Bekzhan, an employee of military unit 6506. First place and 700 thousand tenge were received by Azat Mynbayev from the West Kazakhstan region.

The “World of Abai” competition has been held in Shymkent for the third year in a row and has become a vibrant platform for creative youth who preserve and develop the values of the great thinker.
