In the Shymkent military unit 6506 of the National Guard of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, athletes who represent the country on the world stage are performing their service. Each of them has won at both national and international competitions.

Among them is Private Maksat Ulimbek, Asian Karate Champion. He serves as a gunner-operator in the 4th squad, 1st platoon of the anti-aircraft artillery battery. The 19-year-old serviceman is a prize-winner of international karate championships and a candidate for Master of Sports.
— I started training in sports at the age of 13. My physical abilities made karate a natural choice. I believe my results are good. The army helped me improve my weak points. Soon, I will return home, — said Private M. Ulimbek.

Another serviceman, Private Bauyrzhan Kurmanbek, is the Champion of Kazakhstan in Greco-Roman wrestling. He stood on the podium at international tournaments in Turkey, Russia, and Kyrgyzstan. According to him, his elder brother was the one who introduced him to the sport.
— My brother took me to my first training. At first, I did it just out of interest, but later I realized it was my path. Now, the experience I gained in wrestling also helps me in the army, — he noted.

Private Almat Malikuly is the Champion of Kazakhstan in boxing, a Master of Sports, and a winner of international tournaments. He admits that it was his father who brought him into the world of boxing.
— Since childhood, I’ve put on gloves and trained. Now I am reaping the rewards. In the army, just like in the ring, precision, endurance, and the ability to make quick decisions are crucial. The ring has become a great school for me, — shared Almat.

Another serviceman, Private Batyrkhan Embergen, is a prize-winner of numerous city and regional competitions in judo and combat sambo. He holds the title of Candidate for Master of Sports in judo.
— I have loved sports since childhood. My parents and brothers have always supported me. In the army, I realized even more strongly that sports instill discipline, patience, and determination. After service, I am considering staying on contract, — said B. Embergen.

All four stand out among hundreds of servicemen not only with their physical fitness but also with their moral and psychological qualities, serving as an example to their comrades.

It should be noted that in Kazakhstan, Sports Day is celebrated annually on the third Sunday of August. The holiday was established on November 15, 2003. Today, servicemen of the National Guard of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan successfully represent the country at international competitions, and military units of the Law Enforcement Forces traditionally hold various sports tournaments and contests on this day.
