The staff of the UIS institution in the Abai region honored the memory of the Great Patriotic War veteran V. Shevtsov.
As part of the Ardakty Ardagerim campaign, employees of the institution No. 20 DUIS in the Abai region honored the memory of Ivan Romanovich Shevtsov, a veteran of the Great Patriotic War, who celebrated his 99th birthday.
Ivan Shevtsov was born in 1926 in the village of Antonovka, Altai Territory. In 1942, at the age of 16, he was accepted into a sniper school, and two years later he was drafted into military service in the Red Army. He distinguished himself by his valor, participating in the battles for the liberation of Poland and Czechoslovakia.
The veteran was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War II degree, the Order of the Red Star and medals for conscientious work for courage and bravery shown during his activities.
After the war, he returned to his homeland and worked as a site manager at the Kazelectromontazh enterprise. He is recognized as a responsible specialist in his field. In 1952, he moved with his family to Semipalatinsk, and now lives in this city. During the conversation with the staff, the veteran shared his memories of his youth, military service and comrades-in-arms.
- We express our great gratitude to you, the soldiers of the Great Motherland, who defended our country and the whole world from fascism. You're like real movie characters. You are an example for modern youth," said Dinara Karabayeva, Head of the Department of Educational and Human Resources Work.
