A CAMP FOR GIFTED CHILDREN WILL OPEN IN SHYMKENT

Shymkent City Mayor Gabit Syzdykbekov announced at the August Pedagogical Council that, in accordance with the instructions of the Head of State, the Presidential Residence in the city will operate as a camp for gifted children starting from the new academic year.
This camp brings together Olympiad winners, top students, inventors, and children with a passion for science and outstanding achievements in culture and art, and gives them the opportunity to hone their skills.
The camp operates year-round. Each shift accommodates 50-60 children, and about 2,500 young talents are educated through a unique program each year.
The camp will be equipped with modern equipment, fully meet safety requirements, and provide all necessary conditions. The camp will also have dormitories, study and cultural halls, sports fields, an ecologically clean yard, a library, and a first-aid post.
According to the mayor, this initiative is an important step towards educating the future leaders of our country, realizing the Head of State's care for youth.
The August conference of teachers on the theme "The Future of Education: An Honest Citizen, a Professional" gathered more than 2,100 participants. The conference was attended by the Minister of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Gani Beisembayev, representatives of higher education institutions and colleges, members of the public council, veteran teachers, school principals, and parents.
The conference discussed the main tasks of the new academic year. In particular, the issues of improving the digital literacy of teachers, introducing modern technologies, and forming a socially responsible personality were considered.
The new 2025–2026 academic year in Shymkent will begin with more than 397 thousand students in 1,352 educational organizations. This year, about 28 thousand children will be admitted to the first grade. Currently, the construction of six educational facilities is underway in the city, including two new schools, three additional buildings and one dormitory. Three facilities - two schools and one additional building - will be put into operation before the start of the new academic year. In addition, the buildings of 10 educational organizations are undergoing major repairs.
