"New modern buses hit the roads in Shymkent"
Work continues in Shymkent to create a convenient and modern public transport system. One of the main areas is the renewal of the bus fleet.
This year, 58 new buses were purchased for the city: 28 small-capacity buses for remote areas and 30 large modern vehicles. All of them are equipped with air conditioning, video surveillance systems, navigation, modern payment systems and equipment for people with disabilities.
The city's Akim Gabit Syzdykbekov emphasized that modernization of public transport is one of the priorities. He instructed the responsible services to strictly monitor the cleanliness of buses, compliance with the schedule and the safety of passengers.
In parallel, a large-scale project to switch to environmentally friendly transport is being implemented. Shymkent Bus LLP plans to gradually deliver 179 buses running on gas motor fuel. At each stage, 30-40 vehicles will be launched, which will improve the quality of transportation and reduce the burden on the environment.
Current situation
Today, 984 buses go out daily on 82 routes in Shymkent, of which 79 have social significance. Transportation is provided by 11 companies. In total, the city's bus fleet is 1,173 units.
For sustainable development, the Avtobys system has been implemented — this is electronic payment for travel, dispatching, accounting of passenger traffic and generation of reports in real time. Over 49.8 million passengers used buses in the first 7 months of this year.
Today, 615 buses run on compressed natural gas and 558 on diesel fuel.
Development of the route network
The city's growth, new residential complexes and industrial zones require an update to the route scheme. A new comprehensive plan for the development of passenger transport will be developed in 2025.
Modernization of public transport in Shymkent is not only the purchase of new buses. It is a comprehensive work on infrastructure development, care for the environment and improving the quality of service to residents.
