Kazakhstan – Belgium: Deepening Cooperation

August 27, 2025, Brussels – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan Roman Vassilenko met with Philippe Benoit, Director for Eastern and South-Eastern Europe, Central Asia of the Federal Service for Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development Cooperation of the Kingdom of Belgium.
During the meeting, the parties discussed a wide range of issues related to the current state and prospects for development of the Kazakh-Belgian cooperation. They paid particular attention to strengthening the political dialogue, including the organization of high-level visits, expanding trade and economic ties, as well as developing cultural, humanitarian, scientific and educational exchanges.
Roman Vassilenko stressed the importance of further enhancing economic cooperation, including in such perspective areas as green technologies, digitalization, transport and logistics.
Philippe Benoit expressed interest in expanding practical cooperation with Kazakhstan as a key partner in Central Asia.
The parties also exchanged views on regional agenda, including in the context of developing relations between Kazakhstan and the European Union. They noted that in conditions of global challenges, the multifaceted partnership between Astana and Brussels is acquiring particular importance.
Following the meeting, the officials confirmed their mutual commitment to further deepening bilateral relations.
