A ceremonial opening of the new educational building of the Republican Military College named after Hero of the Soviet Union Sabyr Rakhimov took place in the city of Shymkent.
The event was attended by the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Lieutenant General of Aviation Dauren Kosanov, Akim of Shymkent Gabit Syzdykbekov, veterans of the Armed Forces, college personnel, as well as students of the military-patriotic movement "Zhas Sarbaz".
The ceremony began with the laying of flowers at the monument to Sabyr Rakhimov, the participants honored the memory of the legendary commander with a minute of silence. The ritual had a deep educational meaning, reminding the younger generation of the heroic pages of history and instilling in them respect for the feat of the defenders of the Fatherland.
During the ceremonial event, the Minister of Defense and the Mayor of the city addressed the participants with warm words, congratulating them on the opening of the new educational building. In his speech, Gabit Syzdykbekov especially emphasized the contribution of the college to the training of the younger generation. He noted that thanks to the dedication of teachers, cadets cultivate a sense of duty, honor and patriotism. The Mayor expressed his firm belief that future officers will be reliable defenders of the sovereignty and security of our country.
In turn, Defense Minister Dauren Kosanov expressed gratitude to the city leadership for their constant assistance and close cooperation in the improvement of military units and facilities, as well as for the social support of the garrison servicemen. As a sign of respect, the minister presented the city akim with the departmental medal of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan "El korgany".
During the event, the best servicemen were awarded, and the college personnel marched in a ceremonial march. In addition, the guests were shown elements of hand-to-hand combat and samples of military equipment. In conclusion, the delegation inspected the new educational building, the modernly equipped library and museum, the military canteen and the gym, and got acquainted with the material and technical base of the educational institution.
The new training building will provide an excellent opportunity to improve the quality of military education, as well as the professional and physical training of future officers. This initiative was assessed as an important step towards strengthening the country's defense capability.
