The harvesting campaign is gaining momentum in Akmola region: farmers have already harvested more than 2 million tons of grain and leguminous crops.

As part of a working trip to the Shortandinsky district, Akim of the region Marat Akhmetzhanov visited the fields of Petrovskoye JSC and met with agricultural producers of the district.

The head of the region stressed that Akmola region is the breadbasket of the country and the main agricultural region. According to him, it is the agrarian formations of the region that should become the drivers of the industry's development.:
"A good harvest, high returns and social responsibility should go hand in hand. It is necessary to effectively use the fertility of the land, apply a scientific approach and competently use government support. The Head of State clearly indicated at the National Kurultai that agriculture should become the driver of the economy," said Marat Akhmetzhanov.

199.5 thousand hectares of grain and leguminous crops and about 40 thousand hectares of fodder crops were sown in the Shortandinsky district. To date, 30% of the acreage has been harvested, 108.9 thousand hectares have been harvested with an average yield of 15.5 c/ha.
