On the initiative of the akim of Akmola region, the FLAMINGO FEST festival was held in Korgalzhyn district on a large scale for the first time.

The festival, organized in the format of a cultural, tourist and environmental collaboration, was aimed at developing ecotourism, popularizing national traditions and demonstrating the unique appearance of the region through art.

The Korgalzhyn region is famous not only for its amazing natural landscapes, but also for the famous Kazakh song "Dudarai". This sacred region occupies a special place in the culture and spirituality of our people due to its rich historical heritage, charming melolias and unique flamingos.

The cultural program of the festival included performances by the Honored Artist of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bisara Makenova, Honored Cultural Worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan Aybek Bekbosynov, laureate of republican competitions Ayakoz Kalmagambetova, laureate of international competitions, multi-instrumentalist Aizada Kemel.

The prologue "Akmolanyn kanatty suluy", specially prepared for the festival, was presented by the folk dance ensemble with a 50-year history "Kokshetau" (directed by Madina Tleulina) and the folk dance ensemble with a 25–year history "On alty kyz" (directed by Madina Dusmogombetova). The bright performance of the ensembles found a wide response from the audience.

The special flavor of the holiday was given by the performances of the "Gakku" ensemble of the Akmola Regional Philharmonic named after Ukili Ybyrai, who presented the exquisite rhythms of the national dance (directed by Gulmir Ordabayev), as well as the Orda ethno group (directed by Anuarbek Fayzullin), which combined steppe motifs with modern sound. A quartet of Korgalzhyn artists presented a specially written song "Kokikaz", the headliners of the festival were Kazakh pop stars, the winner of the state award "Yeren Yenbegi Ushin" Zarina Omarova, Amantai Aben and Moldir Muqanova, as well as the performance of Madi Kadyrov gave the festival a special atmosphere.

As part of the festival, an exhibition and fair was held on Bytygai Square. Here, enterprises and agricultural firms of the region engaged in meat and milk processing presented their products. Masters of decorative and applied arts presented unique products made of wood, felt, leather, bone and other materials.

The national games also aroused great interest: the audience enthusiastically watched the competitions in the national games of zhamba ata, archery, Kazakh wrestling, assyk ata.

The guests of the festival also visited the museum of the Korgalzhynsky Nature Reserve, where they got acquainted with the exposition dedicated to flamingos, and then took part in viewing incomparably amazing birds in their natural habitat on Lake Shalkar.

Creative contests were also held with special interest within the framework of the festival: the Flamingo Art art competition, the Kanat Kakkan Auen poetry tournament and the Wings of the Steppe Folklore Ensemble festival. The participants of these events were awarded with cash certificates from the organizers.

Flamingo Fest - 2025 has become a real celebration that combines nature and culture, art and traditions, and left unforgettable impressions for all participants and guests.
