From Kyzylorda region to Astana residents

An agricultural fair showcasing products from the Kyzylorda region was held in Astana.
Residents of the capital had the opportunity to purchase a variety of items such as rice, fish, table salt, melons, and traditional beverages that are well-known in the Aral Sea region. In total, over 600 tons of products were available, valued at more than KZT 270 million.
Specifically, the fair included over 300 tons of rice, 6 tons of meat products, approximately 30 tons of fish products, more than 80 tons of vegetables and fruits, 180 tons of melons, 3 tons of table salt, about 15 tons of milk, and confectionery items. To create a festive atmosphere for visitors, a concert program was arranged with performances by artists from Kyzylorda.
In the region's agricultural sector, the focus is on ensuring food security by producing competitive products. State support has led to dynamic development in this sector. In the first 8 months of this year, agricultural products worth KZT 58.5 billion were produced, with a production growth of 2.1%.
Approximately 190 thousand hectares were used for agricultural crops, including 85.6 thousand hectares for rice cultivation.
To diversify crops, 2.6 thousand hectares were sown, with 4.4 thousand hectares utilizing water-saving technologies.
Thanks to state support, farmers received adequate water supply, enabling them to carry out maintenance work in line with agrotechnical requirements.
Peasant farms are fully provided with agricultural machinery, fuel and lubricants, mineral fertilizers necessary for harvesting.
Harvesting activities are currently being conducted extensively in the area.
A total of 85.6 thousand hectares were sown with rice, of which 50.3 thousand hectares have been harvested, and 42.7 thousand hectares have been threshed. On average, 52.1 centners of harvest are obtained per hectare.
Systematic work has been established to develop livestock farming, as a result of which, compared to last year, the number of cattle has increased by 36.6%, sheep and goats by 22.3%, horses by 0.1%, camels by 4.3%, and poultry by 7.7%.
The region's export potential is also growing. Today, agricultural products of cheese are exported to 16 countries.
The primary product that is exported is rice, which is shipped to various countries including Russia, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Ukraine, Mongolia, Uzbekistan, and Iraq.
