August 25, 2025, Budapest – A meeting was held at the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Hungary with Mr. Róbert Nemcsics, Head of Business Development at Hungarian company Cardinal Számítástechnikai Kft. The main focus of the talks was the potential introduction of advanced online banking solutions in Kazakhstan.
For over 30 years, Cardinal has been a leading player in Hungary’s fintech sector. Its core product, the Electra platform, holds more than 90% of Hungary’s B2B online banking market and is used by the country's largest banks.
During the meeting, the parties discussed opportunities for cooperation in the digital transformation of Kazakhstan’s financial sector. Special attention was given to the potential localization of Cardinal’s solutions in Kazakhstan, including job creation and technology transfer, which could enhance the competitiveness of the national banking system.
The Ambassador of Kazakhstan noted: “Our banks are actively adopting new digital services. A clear example is the success of Kaspi Bank, which has become a benchmark for innovation in the region. We see growing interest in advanced platforms like Electra and are confident that localizing such technologies in Kazakhstan will not only raise the quality of financial services but also help position the country as a regional fintech hub.”
The meeting also touched upon Cardinal’s potential participation in Astana Finance Days and the development of joint investment initiatives aimed at advancing financial technologies in Kazakhstan and Central Asia.
Cardinal expressed its interest in exploring cooperation formats with Kazakh banks and financial institutions, and in evaluating opportunities for establishing a presence in the Kazakh market.
