"Local executive bodies will always attach great importance to the comprehensive development of tourism infrastructure and will be responsible for this work," said President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in his Address of September 8, 2025.

Direct flights from Shymkent International Airport to 7 cities in 5 countries, including Hungary, Germany, Korea, China, and Egypt, were launched. The first flights were to Munich and Budapest.

The launch of new international routes will have a positive impact on increasing the number of tourists coming to Shymkent. Currently, SCAT Airlines has 37 aircraft in its fleet. Of these, 22 operate domestic routes, and 15 operate regularly on international routes.

Now, Shymkent residents and guests of the city will have the opportunity to fly to far and near abroad directly from Shymkent Airport. This project will greatly contribute to the development of the region's transport and tourism sectors.
