On September 4, 2025, the district akim D. Yesilbek got acquainted with the work of the “Aq qaiyn” nursery located in the Karabastau residential area. This meeting was organized with the aim of developing ecological culture, expanding green areas, and preserving the natural beauty of the region.

This nursery was established in 2013. This green center, which covers a total area of 12 hectares , is currently making a significant contribution to improving the ecological situation in the region.

Currently, the nursery grows about 1,000 plant species . Among them are ornamental trees, shrubs, flowers, and seedlings for natural landscaping. These plants are planted in parks, squares, along streets, residential yards, and other public places throughout the city.

The main goal of the “Aq qaiyn” nursery is to increase the green resources of the region, restore the natural landscape, and maintain ecological balance. To achieve this goal, work is being carried out in several areas:

• Greening. Sustainable cultivation of seedlings necessary for landscaping parks and squares in the city.

• Expansion of green zones. Formation of new green belts in Shymkent and the district.

District Akim D. Yesilbek, while getting acquainted with the work of the nursery, emphasized its importance. He said that such centers play a special role in improving the ecological situation of the region.

– “Today, clean air and the increase in green areas are a very important issue for city residents. The work of the “Aq qaiyn” nursery directly serves this purpose. The seedlings grown here will beautify our city in the future and help improve the quality of life of residents,” said the district akim.

He also thanked the nursery staff for their work and noted the need to strengthen work in this area in the future.

The nursery's work is not limited to planting trees. It also hosts events aimed at fostering an ecological culture. Tree planting campaigns are organized for schoolchildren and young people. This allows the younger generation to develop a sense of responsibility for nature.

In addition, the nursery has created conditions for conducting practical classes. Students and young ecologists can learn about plant care and propagation methods and gain practical knowledge.
