The Head of State drew attention to the key role that American energy companies play in implementing this strategically important task.

The President also noted the need to expand the scope of geological exploration and ongoing projects, especially exploring new opportunities in the field of uranium mining and processing.

Kazakhstan covers about 40 percent of the demand in the global uranium market. The United States imports about 24 percent of this material from our country, on average.

– In line with the priorities of the United States in the energy sector, we offer clean, efficient and environmentally safe energy solutions based on coal. In Kazakhstan, more than 70 percent of energy is generated from coal. As one of the countries with the largest coal reserves in the world, we, like the United States, consider it a reliable and safe source of energy, and we will not abandon it, at least in the near future. Our country's energy strategy is based on four components: oil, gas, coal and uranium. We firmly adhere to this principle, - said the Head of State.

The President noted that he considers the development of important raw materials a priority. In addition, he recalled that Kazakhstan has abundant reserves of copper, tungsten, lead, zinc, lithium, graphite and other minerals that are essential for high technology.

– We have created a favorable jurisdiction for investors working in the mining sector, based on open and comprehensive legislation. Large companies such as Ivanhoe, Rio Tinto, Anglo Teck and Fortescue have already entered the domestic mining sector, – said the Head of State.
