YENBEKSHI DISTRICT AKIM'S OFFICE: CITYWIDE CLEANUP DAY AS PART OF WORLD CLEANUP DAY

On September 20, 2025, a large-scale citywide cleanup event was held in Shymkent to mark World Cleanup Day. The Yenbekshinsky District Akim's Office, various departments and agencies, industrial enterprises, organizations, educational institutions, and thousands of district residents actively participated in the event.
The main goal of the event was to restore order in the city, develop an environmental culture among the population, and increase the responsibility of each resident for a clean environment.
The Yenbekshinsky District Akim's Office deployed 500 employees for the cleanup. Thirty pieces of specialized equipment were deployed, and 17 tons of waste were removed from the district as a result of the cleanup efforts. This is a clear example of the district leadership leading by example in maintaining cleanliness and order.
Particular attention should be paid to the activity of ordinary citizens. 3,706 residents of the district participated in the cleanup day, cleaning courtyards, streets, sidewalks, and public spaces. People collected household trash, removed dry leaves and grass, and cleaned their surrounding areas. Such widespread public support demonstrates that residents of the Yenbekshinsky District feel a personal responsibility for the improvement of their environment.
The Ontustik industrial zone sent 2,000 employees to the cleanup day, allocated 4 units of equipment and ensured the removal of 5 tons of garbage .
The Zhuldyz industrial zone mobilized 200 employees and 2 units of equipment , thanks to which 1 ton of waste was collected and removed.
The Special Economic Zone "AEA" participated with 300 employees , using 2 units of equipment , clearing the area of 2 tons of garbage .
These data show that businesses and production sites are aware of their social responsibility and are making a significant contribution to improving the environmental situation.
Comfortable Environment Development Department – 26 employees , 2 units of equipment , 2 tons of waste .
Construction management – 30 employees , 2 units of equipment , 3 tons of waste .
JSC Shymkent (SPK) – 20 employees , 1 unit of equipment , 2 tons of garbage .
Internal Policy Department – 30 employees , 1 unit of equipment , 2 tons of garbage .
The involvement of departments played a significant role in the scale of the event, demonstrating that each government body is ready to contribute to the common cause.
JSC Vodokanal-1 – 30 employees , 2 units of equipment , 1 ton of waste .
Branch "QazaqGaz Aimaq" - 60 employees , 1 unit of equipment , 2 tons of garbage .
Enbekshinsky section of the power grid – 30 employees , 2 units of equipment , 2 tons of garbage .
Public utilities not only participated in the cleanup but also monitored the infrastructure, which enhanced the practical benefits of the event.
The Yenbekshinsky District Police Department deployed 200 officers to the cleanup day, ensuring order and cleanliness, using 3 units of equipment and clearing the area of 4 tons of garbage .
The district's social facilities (schools, kindergartens, hospitals, etc.) provided the participation of 4,360 employees and 10 units of equipment , thanks to which 12 tons of garbage were removed.
Such widespread participation confirms that environmental education encompasses all areas of society – from the younger generation to employees of government organizations.
Petro Kazakhstan sent 300 employees and 4 units of equipment to the cleanup day, removing 3 tons of waste .
This type of business participation demonstrates that large companies recognize their role in maintaining environmental safety and are willing to support government initiatives.
Following the results of the citywide cleanup day in the Yenbekshinsky district:
11,792 people were involved;
66 units of equipment are involved;
A total of 58 tons of garbage were removed.
This is one of the largest cleanup days in recent years, uniting the efforts of government agencies, businesses, and ordinary residents.
During the event, not only garbage collection work was carried out, but also:
pruning dry trees and branches;
mowing grass;
welding and painting works;
cleaning of local areas and streets;
cleaning of ditches, sidewalks and squares;
improvement of small architectural forms.
The citywide cleanup day dedicated to World Cleanup Day was a significant event for the Yenbekshinsky District. It demonstrated that caring for the environment is a shared responsibility, requiring the participation of every resident. Thanks to these joint efforts, dozens of streets, courtyards, and public spaces were cleaned, making the district cleaner, more comfortable, and more attractive to live in.
Such events not only help restore order, but also foster a caring attitude towards the environment among the population, creating a culture of cleanliness and mutual responsibility.
