Kazakhstan has also joined the traditional World Cleanup Day , which will be held worldwide in September 2025. Many government agencies, non-governmental organizations, and educational institutions are actively involved in this initiative and are making their contribution to environmental protection. Among them , the South Kazakhstan State University named after M. Auezov stands out.
This environmental event was attended by the university's faculty, staff, and hundreds of students from each faculty. With their activity, they not only set an example for young people, but also initiated the formation of an ecological culture in society. The rector of the university also emphasized the importance of this event, emphasizing that keeping their native land clean is the main duty of every citizen.
During the Subbotnik, the participants cleaned the area around the university's dormitory No. 1, the courtyards of the adjacent multi-storey residential buildings, as well as the vacant areas between Baitursynov Street and Kunayev Avenue. This initiative went beyond the walls of the university and made a positive impression on the residents of the entire district. One of the students shared his thoughts: “Today we did not just collect garbage, we learned to look responsibly at the future . ”
As part of the environmental campaign, a unique challenge has been launched. It was launched under the slogan " Subbotnik - not a one-day, but a lifelong habit! " This initiative has gained wide support among young people and has also spread widely on social networks. The main goal of the challenge is to make cleanliness a habit not only on a certain day, but in everyday life.
The university youth enthusiastically embraced the idea and invited their friends and acquaintances to join this eco-initiative. Students in particular understood the need to incorporate into their lifestyle skills such as protecting nature, sorting household waste, and recycling plastic and paper.
This event has great educational value. Because the development of young people's love and responsibility for nature determines the quality of the future society. Auezov University has various disciplines, clubs and scientific projects aimed at ecological culture. However, such practical events allow you to combine theoretical knowledge with practical work.
The collaboration of students and teachers not only strengthens the team spirit, but also increases environmental responsibility. Their work has also served as an example to local residents and encouraged many people to be clean.
This event was organized jointly with the district akimat. The Turan district akimat considers supporting environmental projects to be one of its main tasks. Through close cooperation with the university, environmental protection work in the region is being systematically carried out.
Local residents also participated with the students and showed their willingness to clean up the neighborhoods around their homes. Such public partnership strengthens responsibility for the common cause and clearly demonstrates the contribution of each citizen to nature protection.
This initiative of Auezov University will not be a one-day event. In the future, regular ecological weeks, tree planting events, and waste recycling projects will be organized. The university team aims to instill in students the skills of protecting nature and educating them as eco-conscious individuals.
The opinions of university youth are also proof of this. One student noted : “Our work today may seem like a small thing. But if everyone keeps their yard clean, the whole city, even the country, will be cleaner, and our care for nature will increase.”
World Cleanup Day is not just about picking up trash, but, first of all, a global initiative aimed at creating an ecological culture. The faculty and students of Auezov University set a clear example for society by actively participating in this event.
The motto "Senbiliye is not a one-day skill, but a lifelong skill!" will forever remain in the hearts of university youth and become their life principle. Such initiatives are very important for the ecological future of our country. After all, protecting nature is the civic duty of each of us.
