The International Forum of Archivists is taking place in Astana today. "ASTANA ARCHIVE FEST", "Archive: a new era, new opportunities", which discusses the role of archives in modern society, as well as trends in the development and transformation of archive activities in the modern information society. 

On behalf of the Zhetisu region, Gulzhikhan Istanbekova, Director General of the Zhetisu State Archive, and Gulnaz Seikenovna Aitbekova, archivist, are taking part in the international scientific and practical conference. The pressing issues raised by this event are the creation and management of electronic archives as part of an electronic document management system, the digitization of archival funds to ensure their accessibility and safety, the use of artificial intelligence, machine learning and other advanced technologies for the analysis and processing of archived data, as well as the use of archived data to solve urgent problems in business, science and public administration.       

The conference is being held with the participation of guests, representatives of the archival industry of the Russian Federation, Tatarstan, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan.
