Antwerp, Belgium, September 22, 2025 – Roman Vassilenko, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to the Kingdom of Belgium, visited the headquarters of Ahlers Logistics, one of Europe’s leading providers in the field of international logistics and integrated supply chain management.
During talks with Christian Leysen, the owner of Ahlers, and other senior company executives, the parties discussed ways to further deepen cooperation between Ahlers and Kazakhstan. Particular attention was given to the launch in 2025 of a state-of-the-art logistics center in Almaty, which has become a key hub for the company’s operations in Central Asia.
According to Ahlers representatives, this facility has not only strengthened the region’s logistical resilience but also created opportunities for scaling up activities. In the short term, the company plans to increase warehouse capacity, expand its range of contract logistics services, and introduce digital platforms for more flexible supply chain management. Priority will be given to clients in such industries as energy, mechanical engineering, and large-scale construction.
“We greatly value our partnership with Ahlers, which has lasted for nearly three decades. I am confident that against the backdrop of Kazakhstan’s growing role as a transit hub of Eurasia, such initiatives will provide a strong impetus for the development of the country’s entire logistics ecosystem,” emphasized Roman Vassilenko.
For his part, Christian Leysen confirmed the company’s strategic commitment to the Kazakh market: “For us, Kazakhstan is not just a transit point, but a region with high potential for sustainable growth. We intend to continue investing in infrastructure, local teams, and advanced logistics solutions that meet the highest international standards.”
