September 22, 2025, New York – The Head of State met with Yann LeCun, Vice President of Meta.

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held talks with Yann LeCun, Vice President & Chief AI Scientist at Meta, exchanging views on the development and application of innovative technologies.

The Head of State praised Yann LeCun’s pioneering achievements in the field of neural networks and acknowledged his significant contribution to the advancement of artificial intelligence.

The President stressed that Kazakhstan regards comprehensive digitalization and the broad use of AI as key drivers of national development, while making considerable efforts to build its own AI ecosystem and a large language model for the Kazakh language (KazLLM).

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev also welcomed the earlier agreement signed with Meta Platforms Inc. to launch a joint accelerator program for AI technologies in Kazakhstan and expressed readiness to further strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation with the global tech giant.
