Strengthening Interparliamentary Cooperation

Brasília, September 30, 2025 – The Embassy of Kazakhstan in Brazil hosted a meeting between Ambassador Bolat Nussupov and a group of members of the Brazilian National Congress.

The parties discussed the outcomes of the first meeting of the Kazakhstan–Brazil Parliamentary Friendship Group, held in the lower houses of both countries in November 2024 in Astana, and exchanged views on the possibility of organizing the second meeting in Kazakhstan later this year.

The Ambassador presented to his counterparts the main aspects of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s September Address, titled “Kazakhstan in the Age of Artificial Intelligence: Current Tasks and Their Solutions Through Digital Transformation.” In this context, the parties highlighted the importance of further expanding trade, economic, and investment cooperation, as well as exchanging experience in IT development and scientific and technological relations. They also emphasized their interest in developing cooperation in the mining industry, agriculture, livestock breeding, and environmental protection.

During the conversation, B. Nussupov also informed the guests about the preparation and participation of the Kazakh delegation in COP30 in Belém and expressed support for Brazil’s efforts to advance the climate agenda on platforms such as the UN, G20, BRICS, and others.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides agreed to maintain working contacts and exchange information regarding the joint activities of the parliamentary friendship groups in the lower houses of both countries. In a briefing format, the deputies were presented with a detailed overview of Kazakhstan’s current development and the priorities of its domestic, foreign, trade, economic, and transport and logistics policies.
