In case of an emergency or if there’s a threat of one, sirens and alarms are activated in public areas to draw citizens’ attention to important information.

In the first ten days of October, Örken East Kazakhstan Regional Scientific and Methodological Center for Informatization and Education Development of Education Administration of East Kazakhstan region held an interactive lesson in an interview format in the Kazakh language on the topic “Emergency Alert Signal: Attention Everyone!”. The speaker of the meeting was Erik E. Tursyngaliyev, a senior officer of Civil Defense Administration of Emergency Situations Department of East Kazakhstan region, Lieutenant Colonel, who answered a set of key questions related to the topic: what does the “Attention everyone!” signal mean, what actions should be taken upon receiving this signal, who authorizes the activation of the alert system, and what communication means can be used to receive this signal.

Additionally, the speaker introduced students to the operations of the Single Duty Dispatch Service (SDDS), explaining the types of situations in which citizens should contact the service. The lesson also focused on modern warning systems and the different types of alert signals currently used in Kazakhstan.
