Times may change, but the younger generation’s respect for their elders will never fade. “A nation that honors its elders is a nation rich in wisdom.” The elderly, who carry the legacy of the past and pass on valuable lessons to the present, are the true wealth of society.
On the occasion of the International Day of Older Persons, a ceremonial reception for veterans was held in the Karmakshy district, where respected elders and mothers of the community were honored at the “Malike Ana” restaurant.
During the event, district akim (mayor) Zhandos Yerkinbek expressed his deep gratitude to the veterans for their many years of invaluable contribution to the district’s development:
“Today’s peace, stability, and progress are the result of the hard work and dedication of our esteemed elder generation,” — he noted, also highlighting the ongoing support measures for veterans.
At the ceremony, Chairman of the District Council of Veterans Askar Merekov, construction industry veteran Karshyga Yesdauletov, Chairman of the Public Council Abdirakhman Kulduisenov, and Yerbolat Uzakbayev shared their heartfelt wishes and congratulated the elders on the holiday.
In addition, the chairmen of the Karmakshy and Zhanazhol rural veterans’ councils, Mukhtar Tanbayev and Bakytbek Tauekelov, extended their kind greetings and emphasized the importance of showing respect to the elderly.
Along with inspiring speeches, the evening featured a cultural program. Local performers delighted the guests with songs and traditional melodies, creating a warm and joyful atmosphere.
Respect for the elderly is one of the noblest values in the upbringing of the younger generation. A nation with elders is a nation with a strong spirit — and Karmakshy is a district that truly honors that spirit.
