Today we are summarizing the results of the VI Youth Sports Games of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The championship, which takes place every four years, started in April in Turkestan. The national teams of all regions, Almaty, Shymkent and Astana competed for victory in 34 Olympic sports. More than 2,000 athletes took part in the competition. The finish of the Youth Games in Karaganda! This is a large-scale and important event, the starts in which the most promising young athletes of the country strive to participate. The best of them will defend the honor of Kazakhstan on the world stage. The national team of the Karaganda region, with 159 medals of various denominations (56 - gold, 42 - silver, 61 - bronze), took the fourth place among all cities and regions of Kazakhstan, losing to Almaty, Astana and Shymkent. Our athletes in the team competition became the best in such sports as judo, trampoline gymnastics, table tennis and athletics. The men's handball team, representatives of the region in rowing, kayaking and canoe took second place. The third was the women's handball team. The Karaganda region has achieved such a high result in the Youth Games of Kazakhstan for the first time.

The closing ceremony and awarding of the Youth Games were attended by Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Sports and Physical Culture of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nurlan Yesembayev, Head of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of the Karaganda region Serik Sapiyev and deputy of the regional Maslikhat Yerden Khalilin.
