September 22 and 25, 2025, Montreal. On the sidelines of the 42nd Session of the ICAO Assembly, the Kazakh delegation held negotiations with the leadership of the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and EUROCONTROL.

The Kazakh delegation was represented by Ms. Saltanat Tompieva, Chairwoman of the Civil Aviation Committee of the Ministry of Transport, who headed the delegation at the 42^nd ICAO Assembly, and Mr. Timur Tlegenov, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Kazakhstan to ICAO.

EASA was represented by Ms. María Nieves Rueda García, Director for Strategy, Safety Management, Sustainability, and International Cooperation.

The EUROCONTROL delegation was headed by Director General Mr. Raúl Medina.

During the meetings, the parties discussed cooperation between Kazakhstan and these organizations in the areas of flight safety, air traffic management, as well as the exchange of experience and training of Kazakh specialists in European educational institutions.

Kazakhstan expressed its intention to sign an agreement allowing the country to become a full member of EUROCONTROL and to apply common European rules in the fields of air navigation, routing, and the collection of charges. In addition, the document provides for mutual recognition of regulatory acts and technical standards, as well as participation in EU strategic initiatives.

The meetings were held in a friendly and constructive atmosphere.
