September 22, 2025, Montreal. Head of the Delegation of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Chairwoman of the Civil Aviation Committee of the Ministry of Transport, Ms. Saltanat Tompieva, together with the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Kazakhstan to ICAO, Mr. Timur Tlegenov, held a meeting with the Secretary General of ICAO, Mr. Juan Carlos Salazar, on the sidelines of the 42^nd Session of the ICAO Assembly.

During the meeting, the parties discussed key areas of cooperation between Kazakhstan and ICAO, as well as significant projects in the civil aviation sector.

The Kazakh side reaffirmed its commitment to ICAO’s global agenda, including the continued harmonization of national regulations with ICAO Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs), particularly in the areas of flight safety and aviation security.

The ICAO Secretary General highly commended the ongoing reforms in Kazakhstan’s civil aviation sector, the measures undertaken to build new and modernize existing infrastructure, improve the regulatory framework, and expand the international route network.

“We welcome the positive developments coming from Kazakhstan, which demonstrate consistent and dedicated efforts in strengthening the aviation sector. Kazakhstan stands as an example of effective reform and modernization of civil aviation in the region,” said the ICAO Secretary General.

Mr. Salazar also confirmed his readiness to pay an official visit to Kazakhstan in the near future.
