Montreal, 30 September 2025. On the sidelines of the 42^nd Session of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Assembly, the Head of the Delegation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Chairperson of the Civil Aviation Committee of the Ministry of Transport Ms. Saltanat Tompieva, and the Permanent Representative of Kazakhstan to ICAO Mr. Timur Tlegenov met with ICAO Council President Mr. Salvatore Sciacchitano.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and future prospects of cooperation between Kazakhstan and ICAO, as well as the priority areas for the development of civil aviation in Kazakhstan.

Ms. Tompieva informed her interlocutor about Kazakhstan’s key priorities in civil aviation, including the further harmonization of national legislation with ICAO Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs), the enhancement of flight safety and aviation security, and the development of international connectivity and the country’s transit potential. She also highlighted that this year Kazakhstan has, for the first time, submitted more than 30 working and information papers to the Assembly, reflecting the country’s active position on a broad range of international civil aviation issues.

Mr. Sciacchitano highly commended Kazakhstan’s progress in the aviation sector and recalled with appreciation his meeting with the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan during his recent visit. The ICAO Council President expressed confidence in the continued strengthening of the partnership and reaffirmed ICAO’s readiness to support Kazakhstan’s initiatives in the field of civil aviation.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties agreed to continue their practical engagement on ongoing and prospective projects, including Kazakhstan’s participation in ICAO’s international initiatives.
