A seminar for rural librarians of the Beimbet Mailin district on the topic “YOUTH IN THE LIBRARY: INNOVATIVE FORMS OF WORK” was held on October 16 in the reading hall of the Central District Library.
The seminar was attended by the Chief Specialist of the State Institution "Department of Internal Policy of the Akimat of Beimbet Mailin District" — N.M. Baizhanova, who introduced the main principles of working with youth within the framework of the "State Youth Policy Concept of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2023–2027," which outlines strategic directions, objectives, and approaches. In her speech, Natalia Mikhailovna emphasized that thanks to the collaborative work with the district's libraries, a high level of events is ensured, making them meaningful and accessible to young people.
The methodologist of the Central District Library, N.N. Ishchenko, presented creative forms of working with youth in libraries.
What artificial intelligence is and why it is needed in libraries was explained by reader services librarian N.O. Koryakina. She demonstrated, using her own experience, how a generative AI chatbot like ChatGPT can be used to write and edit texts and articles, create posters, presentations, event advertisements, reading recommendation lists, and translate information into other languages.
The second part of the seminar was dedicated to anniversary milestones: the 45th anniversary of the Centralized Library System and the 85th anniversary of the Central District Library.
A historical overview titled “Flipping Through Your Pages in the Anniversary Year” about the history of the CLS was conducted by bibliographer S.N. Korol. The librarians listened with great interest to how the library system in the district evolved from its early beginnings to the present day.
Next, the Head of the CLS, G.Zh. Asanova, summarized the achievements of the library system in her presentation “45 Years in the Name of Books and Readers” and held an award ceremony for all librarians in honor of their professional holiday — Librarian's Day.
At the end of the event, a festive tea party was organized for the friendly team of librarians.
