On October 17, 2025, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan Beibut Atamkulov met with the Minister of Agriculture of Uzbekistan Ibrohim Abdurakhmonov.
During the talks, held on the eve of upcoming top- and high-level events, the parties discussed the implementation of the provisions of the Roadmap between the Governments of the two countries to fulfill the instructions given following the state visit of Sh. Mirziyoyev to Kazakhstan in August 2024.
Particular attention was given to expanding mutually beneficial cooperation in the agricultural sector, including joint projects in crop production and animal husbandry – specifically, in cattle breeding and the deep processing of agricultural products. The parties emphasized the importance of introducing innovative technologies, exchanging best practices, and strengthening trade and economic relations in agriculture.
For reference: In January-August 2025, bilateral trade in agricultural products increased by 27.6%, reaching USD 1.3 billion. Kazakhstan’s key export commodities include grain, flour, meat, and sugar, the demand for which continues to grow. Kazakhstan remains one of the top three importers of fruit and vegetable products from Uzbekistan.
Ambassador B. Atamkulov invited Uzbek agricultural producers and entrepreneurs to actively participate in the Kazakh–Uzbek Business Forum, which will take place on October 20, 2025, in Tashkent.
Following the meeting, both sides agreed to maintain a substantive dialogue and strengthen joint efforts to deepen cooperation between relevant government agencies and business communities of the two countries.
