AUTOMATED INDUSTRIAL WASTEWATER MONITORING SYSTEM: A NEW STAGE OF ECOLOGICAL CONTROL

In order to ensure environmental safety and efficient use of water resources , an automatic industrial wastewater monitoring system is being introduced in Shymkent. This is the first modern project being implemented in Kazakhstan, the purpose of which is to continuously monitor the composition of wastewater from industrial enterprises around the clock and prevent harmful effects on the environment.
This system allows you to determine the BOD (biochemical oxygen demand) , COD (chemical oxygen demand) , pH level , as well as the amount of petroleum products and heavy metals in wastewater. These indicators are considered one of the most important parameters in assessing the level of water pollution.
During the project implementation, two units of automatic analyzers , one monitoring station , and an automatic wastewater analysis unit are being installed. These devices collect and analyze data in real time and can immediately detect any deviations from the norm.
Once the system is fully operational, all monitoring processes will be fully automated . The data obtained using special software will be automatically sent to the server of the water disposal operator, as well as to the relevant government agencies and enterprises that have committed violations .
This will increase the transparency of environmental control and strengthen responsibility in the use of water resources. Previously, such analyzes were carried out manually or by laboratory methods, which required a lot of time and human resources. Now, thanks to an automated system, the results are accurate, fast, and without the influence of the human factor.
In addition, another advantage of the system is the ability to operate continuously around the clock . This, in turn, paves the way for more accurate and consistent testing of wastewater quality from industrial facilities.
Automatic analyzers and monitoring stations will be installed in industrial zones and large industrial enterprises in Shymkent . This is an important step towards reducing the environmental impact of industrial production sources.
It is known that wastewater contains a high content of harmful substances, especially in industrial plants in the metallurgical, chemical and oil refining industries. Therefore, the introduction of a control system in such enterprises will make a significant contribution to ensuring environmental sustainability.

An important component of the project is the work of the testing laboratory of Water Resources-Marketing LLP (SR-M) . The laboratory is currently commissioning an automatic multi-channel water quality analyzer for rapid determination of water quality.
This device can quickly determine four key indicators in wastewater:
Chemical oxygen demand (COD)
Presence of phosphates
Amount of ammonia
Presence of nitrites
These types of analysis are of particular importance in assessing the ecological quality of water. These indicators allow for an accurate assessment of the level of organic and inorganic pollution of water.
Specialists of the laboratory of "SR-M" LLP monitor the quality of wastewater around the clock using an automatic system. This contributes to improving the overall ecological situation in the city and improving the quality of life of residents.
As part of the national project for the modernization of the energy and utilities sectors of the Republic of Kazakhstan, it is planned to fully automate water quality analysis in all large and medium-sized cities in the country by 2029.
This initiative aims to raise environmental safety to a new level by digitizing the analysis of drinking water and wastewater . That is, the process of monitoring water quality will be carried out without human intervention, only through automatic sensors and intelligent programs.
