Addis Ababa, October 20, 2025 – The Ambassador  of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia Zhalgas Adilbayev, presented his credentials to the Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Mahmoud Ali Youssouf.

The ceremony took place at the African Union Headquarters in a spirit of mutual respect and goodwill. During the conversation, the parties discussed prospects for further cooperation on issues of mutual interest.

Ambassador Zh.Adilbayev expressed gratitude for the warm reception and emphasized Kazakhstan’s interest in further strengthening partnership ties with African countries and the structures of the African Union, including in areas such as education, science, sustainable development, AI, ecology, and “green” technologies.

The Kazakh diplomat also expressed hope for the continuation of political and economic dialogue and contacts between Kazakhstan and the African Union within the framework of global organizations and at international forums, including those to be organize in Kazakhstan.

The Chairperson of the African Union Commission, M.Youssouf, in turn, congratulated Ambassador Zh.Adilbayev on the commencement of his mission and expressed readiness for further dialogue and interaction aimed at strengthening cooperation between Kazakhstan and the African Union.

M.Youssouf also highly appreciated the role of Kazakhstan as a dynamically developing country in the Central Asian region. The Chairperson noted the established constructive dialogue between Kazakhstan and the countries of the African continent, which is developing within the framework of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and underscored the importance of Kazakhstan’s initiative for cooperation within the Islamic Organization for Food Security, whose headquarters is located in Astana.

In conclusion of the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining constructive exchange and developing mutually beneficial contacts in a spirit of friendship and mutual understanding.
