Chairman of the Asset Recovery Committee of Kazakhstan, Nurdaulet Suindikov’s Visit to Vienna

Vienna, October 20, 2025 – Nurdaulet Suindikov, Chairman of Kazakhstan’s Asset Recovery Committee, visited Austria to strengthen international cooperation on asset recovery and anti-corruption efforts.

During his visit, Mr. Suindikov held talks with Bakyt Dzhusupov, Coordinator of OSCE Economic and Environmental Activities. The discussions focused on enhancing collaboration, sharing expertise, and developing joint initiatives aimed at combating corruption, money laundering, and the suppression of illicit financial flows.

The Head of the Committee also met with Professor Slagjana Taseva, Dean of the International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA), where the Kazakh delegation presented its national experience in asset recovery. The presentation highlighted the effectiveness of current mechanisms and underscored the vital role of international cooperation in improving their efficiency.

A key outcome of the visit was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Asset Recovery Committee of Kazakhstan and IACA. This agreement aims to strengthen the partnership foster joint efforts in combating corruption and recovering unlawfully acquired assets.

The memorandum outlines priority areas such as the implementation of educational and research projects, the exchange of analytical materials and best practices, and the promotion of legal and institutional reforms to enhance anti-corruption frameworks.
