An Expert Round Table Dedicated to the 35th Anniversary of the Declaration of Sovereignty of Kazakhstan was Held in Islamabad

Islamabad, October 22, 2025 – A Round Table titled “Kazakhstan through the Lens of the Declaration of Sovereignty: Regional Connectivity and Economic Cooperation between Kazakhstan and Pakistan” was held to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration of State Sovereignty of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The event was jointly organized with Pakistan’s Policy Research Institute of Market Economy (PRIME) and with the participation of Kazakhstan’s Center for Trade and Economic Strategies (CTES).

Representatives of government authorities, business circles, and the expert community of both countries took part in the event.

The Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Pakistan, H.E. Mr. Yerzhan Kistafin, emphasizing the significance of the 35th anniversary of the Declaration of State Sovereignty as a symbol of independence and modernization, spoke about the key areas of the bilateral agenda, including the development of cooperation in political, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian spheres. He also informed participants about the activities held and planned for 2025.

The Ambassador drew parallels between the history of Kazakhstan’s statehood and the main stages of the development of bilateral relations with Pakistan.

The main presentations were delivered by Deputy Chairman of CTES Mr. Bauyrzhan Tazhibayev and Chief Executive officer of PRIME Dr. Ali Salman, who underlined the need to strengthen economic ties, develop transport and logistics infrastructure, and expand digital cooperation between Central and South Asia.

During the discussions, participants emphasized the importance of creating sustainable transport and logistics corridors, developing digital trade platforms, expanding mutual investments, and fostering energy connectivity.

Overall, the participants highly praised Kazakhstan’s progress and its establishment as a sovereign and independent state.
