Kazakhstan participates in the work of the 75th Session of the WHO Regional Committee for Europe

Copenhagen, 28-29 October 2025 – Mr. Olzhas Suleimenov, Ambassador of Kazakhstan, paid a working visit to Denmark, during which he participated in the 75th Session of the World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Committee for Europe and held meetings at the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The main theme of the anniversary session, held under the motto «Back to Basics», was the adoption of the second European Programme of Action of WHO for 2026–2030, aimed at strengthening sustainable health systems in the face of global challenges.
Speaking at the plenary session, Ambassador O. Suleimenov reaffirmed Kazakhstan's commitment to the WHO's goals and key priorities of the regional agenda, highlighting the country's progress in strengthening primary health care (PHC), expanding universal health coverage, digital transformation of medicine, and immunization coverage. He specifically noted the initiative of President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to establish a Global Coalition of Countries for PHC development and called on WHO member states to actively participate in this platform.
On the sidelines of the session, the Ambassador met with Dr. Hans Kluge, Director of the WHO Regional Office for Europe. The parties discussed further areas of cooperation between Kazakhstan and the WHO Regional Office for Europe.
During the visit, Ambassador O.Suleimenov presented copies of his credentials to Anna Dorthe Riggelsen, Chief of Protocol at the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and discussed arrangements for the upcoming audience with King Frederik X of Denmark.
In a meeting with Peter Lassen, Director of the European Neighbourhood Department at the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, participants discussed prospects for further strengthening bilateral cooperation, including collaboration in the areas of green energy, transport and logistics, sustainable agriculture, water management and digitalisation. They also exchanged views on topical issues on the regional and international agenda, including the development of Kazakhstan's dialogue with the European Union.
