Kazakhstan's educational space is moving towards a global level

The International Forum of Strategic Partners in Education and Science was held with the participation of the Head of State. As part of the event, the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Sayasat Nurbek, made a report on specific measures aimed at deeply transforming the national and global education ecosystem.

According to the minister, a network of 40 branches of foreign universities is being created in Kazakhstan. 85 percent of them are focused on high-tech areas - artificial intelligence, computer engineering, cybersecurity, natural and technical sciences, nuclear physics and other popular areas. This initiative will allow to obtain high-quality education of international level in the country, attract investment and develop academic tourism.

Today, 31,500 foreign students are studying in our country. This is a historical record. For the first time, the number of students from Asian countries has exceeded that from the CIS countries. It is planned to increase the number of foreign students to 100 thousand by 2029.

During the forum, it was noted that a Council of Strategic Partners was established. The Council is aimed at ensuring institutional interaction and jointly addressing key challenges. To date, three meetings of the Council have been held.
