Education and science are in the focus of Kazakhstan–Oman bilateral cooperation
04.11.2025 08:30:50 159Muscat, November 3, 2025 – The Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Sultanate of Oman Aidarbek Tumatov, held a meeting with the Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation of the Sultanate of Oman, Rahma Al-Mahrooqi.
The parties discussed prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation in the fields of education and science, taking into account modern trends and the growing number of international students choosing Kazakhstan for higher education, particularly in medical universities.
The Ambassador emphasized the importance of strengthening interaction between universities of the two countries through academic exchange programs and the implementation of joint research projects in information technology and medicine.
Special attention was given to the need for further improvement of the legal framework to ensure sustainable and long-term cooperation.
Minister Rahma Al-Mahrouqi expressed readiness to develop cooperation with Kazakhstan, noting the significance of innovative and research initiatives that can contribute to deepening academic and scientific ties between the two countries.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to explore the possibility of signing Memorandums of Understanding in the field of education during the First Session of the Intergovernmental Commission, scheduled for December 2, 2025, in Muscat.
