From October 27 to 30, the city of Turkistan hosted the Asian Championship in Qazaq Kuresi (Kazakh wrestling).

In the weight category up to 74 kg, Private Tilek Toktasynuly, a serviceman of military unit 5573 of the National Guard of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, achieved a confident victory, winning the gold medal and bringing honor to both his country and the National Guard.

The competition, held at the Olympic Center sports complex, brought together about 150 wrestlers from 12 Asian countries, including Kyrgyzstan 🇰🇬, Uzbekistan 🇺🇿, Mongolia 🇲🇳, Iran 🇮🇷, India 🇮🇳, and Japan 🇯🇵. Men and women competed for championship titles across 16 weight categories.

The event was organized by the Qazaq Kuresi Association and the Akimat of Turkistan Region. The region has become a major hub for international tournaments such as Turan Barysy, the World Cup, and the Asian Cup. In addition, the National Guard’s Sambo Championship was recently held at the Bekzat Sattarkhanov Sports Complex. It is noteworthy that the region hosts 30 sports organizations where over 140 coaches train more than 3,000 athletes in Qazaq Kuresi.

Upon returning from Turkistan, the champions were greeted with an official welcome ceremony at the capital’s airport. Private Toktasynuly was met by his parents, relatives, fans, fellow servicemen, and sports colleagues. The guardsmen congratulated the champion on his well-deserved victory and expressed pride in his achievement, which has become an inspiring example for all young servicemen.

Private Tilek Toktasynuly’s triumph at such a prestigious championship stands as a vivid symbol of strength, determination, and devotion to the Motherland.
