The regional Akim holds talks in Switzerland

A delegation led by Nurlybek Nalibayev, Akim of the Kyzylorda region, held a number of important meetings during a working visit to Switzerland.
The regional governor met with Tatyana Molchan, UN Under-Secretary-General and Executive Secretary of the UN Economic Commission for Europe, and discussed areas of interregional cooperation and sustainable development.
"We are grateful for the warm welcome of the Kyzylorda region delegation. Our trip is economic in nature and aims to expand cooperation in Geneva and Bern. In July, a memorandum of cooperation with UN-Habitat was signed in Kyzylorda at the first Urban Forum. This event marked an important step in the development of sustainable urbanism and international partnerships,"-said Nurlybek Nalibayev. The regional akim also met with Thierry Apotelot, State Councilor of the Canton of Geneva, to present investment opportunities in the Kyzylorda region and discuss bilateral cooperation with the Swiss side in the construction industry, agricultural processing, light industry, mining, mechanical engineering, and tourism.
At the meeting, held at the Government House of the Canton of Geneva, Nurlybek Nalibayev, Akim of the Kyzylorda region, signed the Guest Book. In his entry, the regional governor noted that the official visit to Geneva is a great honor and emphasized that this trip provides an excellent opportunity to develop cooperation and exchange experiences between the two regions. He also expressed confidence in the further strengthening of relations between Kazakhstan and Switzerland, based on friendship and mutual respect, and wished the residents of Geneva a peaceful life and prosperity.
