From November 1 to 2, the city of Kostanay hosted the 15th International Hand-to-Hand Combat Tournament dedicated to the memory of World Champion and Police Major Ruslan Mukanov. The competition brought together more than 220 athletes from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan.
Following the results of the tournament, the “Burkit Team” of the National Guard of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan won first place in the overall team standings.
The main goal of the tournament was to foster patriotism, a love for sports, and devotion to the Motherland among youth through the example of an outstanding athlete and officer, as well as to encourage young people to engage in regular physical training and martial arts.
The competition was held in eight weight categories, and the servicemen of the National Guard of the Republic of Kazakhstan honorably represented their units, winning several awards.
Individual Results:
up to 67 kg — Cadet of the National Guard Academy, Private Aydın Kabdussalimov — 1st place;
up to 67 kg — Serviceman of military unit 6697, Private Zhandos Galymzhanov — 2nd place;
up to 73 kg — Cadet of the National Guard Academy, Private Baibol Kuanyshov — 1st place;
up to 73 kg — Serviceman of military unit 6697, Private Zharas Sagyn — 3rd place;
up to 80 kg — Serviceman of military unit 6697, Private Nurbol Yakhiyahanov — 1st place;
up to 88 kg — Cadet of the National Guard Academy, Private Tamerlan Zholdybai — 2nd place;
up to 97 kg — Cadet of the National Guard Academy, Private Iskander Zhaikbayev — 2nd place.
Once again, the guardsmen demonstrated a high level of training and their unwavering determination to achieve victory — both in sports and in their service to the Motherland.
