Masterclass on the funded pension system from UAPF specialists

A unique opportunity to participate in the seminar, either in person or online.
Every year, the Unified Accumulative Pension Fund (UAPF) brings together media representatives, bloggers, and journalism students to share secrets for creating timely and relevant materials that will appeal to all target audiences.
This year's planned event will be held in a mixed format: offline at the UAPF headquarters in Almaty (Samal-2, Building 97) and online to accommodate attendees and speakers from other cities across the country.
On November 20, 2025, the lecture course will be held in Russian, and on November 21, in Kazakh, from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM.
The course program will include training modules on various topics:
- Basic concepts and types of pension systems worldwide, the impact of demographic trends on pension provision. The pension system in Kazakhstan. UAPF activities.
- Pension asset management at the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan (a presentation on how and where pension assets are invested will be given by managers from the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan).
- Pension savings in trust management. Where to find and how to correctly read information about management companies;
- Pension benefits. Taxation of pension benefits;
- UAPF outreach. How to create an engaging article about the FPS using primary sources. (What inquiries should I address to the UAPF, the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, and the Agency for the Development and Regulation of the Financial Market. Direct channels for obtaining information on the funded pension system: the enpf.kz website, social media, press@enpf.kz, and the БЖЗҚЕНПФ YouTube channel – as a source of exclusive commentary from Kazakhstani and international expertsҚ.

UAPF was founded on August 22, 2013 on the basis of GNPF APF JSC. The founder and shareholder of the UAPF is the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan represented by the State Institution Committee of State Property and Privatization of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Trust management of UAPF pension assets is carried out by the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In accordance with the pension legislation, the UAPF attracts compulsory pension contributions, employer’s compulsory pension contributions, compulsory occupational pension contributions, voluntary pension contributions, as well as carries out enrollment and accounting of voluntary pension contributions formed at the expense of the unclaimed amount of guaranteed compensation for the guaranteed deposit, transferred by the organization carrying out mandatory guarantee of deposits, in accordance with the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On mandatory guarantee of deposits placed in second-tier banks of the Republic of Kazakhstan", ensures the implementation of pension benefits. The Fund also carries out accounting of target assets and target requirements, accounting and crediting of target savings (TS) to target savings accounts, payments of TS to their recipients in bank accounts, accounting for returns of TS in the manner determined by the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan within the framework of the National Fund for Children program (More details at www.enpf.kz)
