Guardsman Arman Turymbetov Wins Bronze at the 50th Anniversary World Sambo Championship

From November 7 to 10, 2025, the capital of Kyrgyzstan — Bishkek — is hosting the 50th Anniversary World Sambo Championship in sport and combat sambo.

The tournament has brought together more than 650 athletes from 70 countries, who are competing for 31 sets of medals in sport sambo, combat sambo, and sambo for visually impaired athletes.

In the individual competition, Private Arman Turymbetov, representing military unit 6655 of the National Guard of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, performed with distinction. Competing in the 58 kg weight category, he won the bronze medal, demonstrating a high level of training and strong fighting spirit.

Earlier, in April this year, Arman Turymbetov became the silver medalist at the Asian and Oceania Combat Sambo Championship.

It is worth noting that, based on the overall team results of the World Championship, the Kazakhstan national team took second place, reaffirming its status as one of the leading sambo nations in the world.
