Kazakhstan and Oman aim to strengthen cooperation in agriculture

Muscat, November 12, 2025 – The Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Sultanate of Oman Aidarbek Tumatov, held a meeting with the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources of the Sultanate of Oman Dr. Saud bin Hamood Al Habsi.

During the discussions, prospects for cooperation in the agricultural sector were explored, including the potential for regular supplies of high-quality agricultural products from Kazakhstan to the Omani market, which was met with keen interest by the Omani side.

In light of Oman’s ongoing efforts to ensure food security, the Omani side requested a list of Kazakhstani companies specializing in food exports to establish business relations with relevant Omani enterprises.

The parties also reviewed the capabilities of Oman’s seaport warehouse infrastructure for long-term storage of food products in large quantities, as well as the potential for exporting fresh seafood and other marine products from Oman to Kazakhstan.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides clarified the import regulations and veterinary and sanitary requirements for agricultural products entering the Sultanate.
